2010 NHS Teen Idol Semi Finalist Jessica Lynch
“An amazing learning and performing experience with fantastic performers and teachers supporting you.”

Excerpts from my recent interview with Jessica Lynch...
Briarcliff Manor, NY resident, 15 year old, Miss Jessica Lynch is one of our 2010 NHS Teen Idol Semi Finalists. Jessica has also made it to the top 30 out of 120 people for Westchester Teen Idol which was a singing contest in her county, has also auditioned for the original cast for Billy Elliot on Broadway and made it to the last callback, she has won several swimming medals for coming in 1st, second, or third place when she was about 8 and was a spelling bee winner in middle school! Currently, she is in a local production of Urinetown as a featured dancer and is going to French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts in August for her second year, which she is very excited about!
I absolutely love this peanut butter and jelly story…Obviously obsessed as a child with Barney, “If I wanted a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, instead of asking for one like I normal person, I would sing the peanut butter and jelly song from Barney!” Jessica’s earliest memory of performing, “I remember when I was 2; I would always sing Christmas songs (although I usually messed up the lyrics) and songs from Barney and Sesame Street!”
Jess’s experiences at NHS Teen Idol, “My best experience at NHS Teen Idol was meeting a lot of singers who also love what I do, making new friends, and being able to perform at the semi-finals with so many incredible singers. It was amazing being included in such a talented group.” Also, “What I like best about NHS Teen Idol are the people. Everyone I met was really nice and down-to-earth. Everyone was so talented and sweet. I also loved the classes such as the ones by Eugene Foley, Blake Althen, and Sebastian Richards (and Lyssen) who taught me so much about the music business and gave me an honest perspective on what was needed in order to pursue a professional career in this industry.”
Her main goals are to become a professional musician and perform on Broadway!
Jess is also very well rounded when it comes to musical interests, “I love a lot of different kinds of music. I love Broadway music, current pop, and classic rock! I love all the songs from musicals like Hair, Next to Normal, Les Miserable’s, Wicked, etc . I also love all the songs from artists like Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, The Beatles, and many more.” She also plays classical piano for 4 years now and is currently trying to teach herself guitar and drums.
She would like to be remembered for having music that touches people and for being a good person.
WOW! In 15 years Jess has gone from peanut butter and jelly songs to the NHS Teen Idol Semi Finals…I think her dreams of making it to Broadway will definitely come true!
