Excerpts from my recent interview with Cari Fletcher...
Ms. Cari Fletcher, 16 from Wall Township, NJ is currently in the 10th grade at Wall High School, performing in her school musical, “The Wizard of Oz.” She is also employed part time as a mannequin model and a Hannah Montana impersonator for children’s birthday parties.
In her spare time, when she’s not on stage, she plays volleyball, goes snowboarding, kick boxes, takes singing lessons, writes music and songs, travels, and loves spending time with her family and good friends. She also plays piano and guitar.
When she was 7, she performed Part of Your World at the Geraldine Thompson Nursing Home. Since then, she was a Ronnette in the musical Little Shop of Horrors last year at Wall High School and won a 1st place award for Best Ensemble, finalist in the NHS Teen Idol Competition, was accepted into the Monmouth County Arts Education Program for Gifted and Talented Teens, graduated Barbizon School of Acting and Modeling and is in the National Thespian Society, a High Honor Roll student, and she is a Pendo Karate brown belt.
A very cute story she told me was,” Ever since the day I was born I’ve always been a daddy’s girl. The other day my mom was telling me stories how she used to slave over me all day and the minute my dad walked in the door I would treat her like domestic help, push her away and say “Mommy you go now!” I laughed when she told me that. “I laughed even harder when she told me that her Mom is her biggest fan!!!
Her short term goal is to get into a really good college with a Music Business Management Program so she can successfully manage her own career as well as others in the future.
Cari’s best experience at NHS Teen Idol was making a few really good friends that she still talks to and thinks it was awesome getting to work with so many talented people.
In conclusion, when I asked her what she would like to be remembered for she said, “Everyone says that they want to be remembered for doing something that will change the world like curing cancer or achieving world peace. The one thing that I want to be able to say that I accomplished in my lifetime was to make a difference in the lives of others, and to make people happy. I’m not looking for fame and fortune, just the name recognition for the opportunity to be a positive role model and make a difference, even if it is only in one person’s life.”
WOW! Cari is very busy! I would like to say that your performances at NHS Teen Idol 2009 were awesome and we all wish you the best of luck in the future!
